did you ever see "out of this world," the '80s sitcom with the girl whose father was an alien? it was great, such a trip. i think evie was one of my first crushes, back when i was too embarassed to admit i had crushes on television people, or before i knew that you could have crushes on people that didn't really exist.

back before roswell, she was a teenager with Actual Problems. she could freeze the world by putting her fingers together, so she could stop her orange juice from spilling or get out of a kiss she didn't want to be in the middle of.

last night someone said i was a hypocrite. and i wonder when it is that you lose the part where the stupid things you do are still considered experiments, and when it starts to count?

someone else told me that washington is like summer camp for me. whenever i have milk that's about to expire, i make hot cocoa like every night. and it's the same thing for life. when you're not saving yourself up for anything, all of a sudden, you can go and fuck shit up and walk away as the building explodes in the background behind you.

yeah. i could be keanu in the matrix. or i could be don juan, and have sun-dried lips with callouses that formed from the nipples of so many girls. but my favorite is evie - if i could be evie, and freeze time in the moments that i want to be the most, stay there forever, and the fire will never go out.
